Where it started
Out of the back of a pickup truck.
Before I wrote a line of code, I ran a detailing business in the Florida panhandle. It started with me and a pickup truck, and it grew into one of the best-known detailing businesses in the area, with hundreds of regular clients and a team on payroll.
I know what it is like to run the schedule, do the work, pay people every week and still try to grow. There is never time left over to look through a client list.
What I learned
The clients you lose don’t complain.
The regulars I lost were not the ones who left a bad review. They were the loyal ones who simply stopped booking. No message, no goodbye. By the time I noticed, it had been months, and they had found someone else.
Nothing in my booking tools told me it was happening. That gap is the reason Keptix exists.
Why I’m building it myself
I went back to school to build it.
After the detailing business, I started studying computer science in college, and I am building Keptix while I study. I would rather build the tool I wish I had, with an owner’s eye on every screen, than hand the idea to someone who has never had a regular stop showing up.
Every feature starts with one question: would this have helped me on a busy Saturday?
What Keptix believes
Every client has their own rhythm.
A barber client due every three weeks and a color client due every eight should not get the same reminder on the same day. Keptix judges each regular by their own usual gap.
Show it in dollars.
Owners are busy. Keptix shows what a slipping regular is worth to you and who came back, so you can see if it is working without guessing.
You stay in charge.
Keptix never messages your clients without asking you, and texts only go to clients who said yes.
