For barbershop owners
Know which regulars stopped coming back, before they find another chair.
A regular who gets a fade every two weeks doesn’t tell you when they switch shops. They just stop showing up. Keptix shows you which of your clients are past their usual cut, what each one is worth to your shop, and writes the message that brings them back.
Most of your chair time depends on coming back
In SQUIRE’s 2026 report on 13.9 million appointments at about 7,000 U.S. barbershops, fewer than half of all visits (about 45%) came from a client who had been to that shop before. Every regular who keeps coming back is worth protecting.
Barbershop regulars come often, so a few missed weeks add up fast. By the time you notice the empty slot, they may be sitting in someone else’s chair.
Generic “we miss you” messages use one cutoff for everyone, like 60 days. A client who comes every two weeks has already missed four cuts by then.
Every client has their own rhythm
| Service | Usually back every | Worth a check-in by |
|---|---|---|
| Skin fade or tight fade | 2 weeks | Week 3 |
| Beard trim and lineup | 2 weeks | Week 3 |
| Taper or short cut | 3 weeks | Week 5 |
| Classic scissor cut | 4 weeks | Week 6 |
| Longer styles | 6 weeks | Week 9 |
Typical gaps, for illustration. Keptix reads each client’s own visit history, so a client who comes every 2 weeks is flagged at week 3, while one who comes every 6 weeks has until week 9.
What one regular is worth
Fade client
$1,040 a year
Every 2 weeks at $40
Haircut client
$560 a year
Every 4 weeks at $43
Cut and beard
$950 a year
Every 3 weeks at $55
Visits a year times the ticket. $43 is the 2026 U.S. average haircut price in SQUIRE’s report; the other prices are examples. Lose 10 regulars like the fade client without noticing and that’s about $10,400 a year.

Why I built it
I ran a detailing business in the Florida panhandle with hundreds of regular clients. The ones I lost never complained. They just stopped booking, and I didn’t notice until months later. Barbershops run on regulars who come back every few weeks, so I built Keptix to catch the ones drifting while there’s still time to bring them back.

Questions owners ask
How often do barbershop clients usually come back?
It depends on the cut. A tight fade often needs a cleanup about every 2 weeks, while longer styles can go 6 weeks or more. Across all clients with more than one visit, SQUIRE’s 2026 report found an average of about 48.5 days between visits. That spread is why Keptix judges each client by their own rhythm.
How do I know if a barbershop client is overdue?
Compare the time since their last cut with their own usual gap. A client who normally comes every 2 weeks and hasn’t been in for 3 is overdue. Keptix does this for every client in your book automatically.
What about walk-ins?
Keptix can only follow visits that have a client’s name on them. A walk-in paid without a name or client profile can’t be matched to a regular, so the more visits you tie to a client, the clearer the picture.
Do I have to switch booking apps?
No. Keptix works alongside the booking app you already use. Connect Square in one tap, or upload a file with each client’s name and visit date.
Will Keptix message my clients without asking me?
No. You review every message before it goes out, and nothing is sent without your OK. Texting from your own local number is coming at launch, only to clients who said yes.
Is my shop’s data safe?
Keptix reads your Square data with read-only access, so it can never change a booking or charge anyone. Files uploaded for the free Leak Check are read once and thrown away, and you can delete your data at any time.
How much does Keptix cost?
The Leak Check is free. Plans start at $69 a month, and the first 25 founding businesses get 30% off for life.
