For nail, lash and brow studios

Know which fill clients stopped booking, before they find another tech.

A three-week fill client doesn’t announce they’re leaving. One fill gets skipped, then the next one is somewhere else. Keptix shows you which of your clients are past their usual appointment, what each one is worth to your studio, and writes the message that brings them back.

Fill clients run on a short clock

Nails and lashes grow out fast. L’Oréal Paris says a gel manicure typically lasts two to three weeks and acrylics need a fill every two to three weeks. AARP says lash touch-ups are recommended every two to three weeks.

That makes fill clients your most frequent regulars, and the easiest to lose quietly. In Zenoti’s 2024 data, the average nail salon rebooked just 9% of clients within 24 hours of their visit. Most leave without their next fill booked.

Generic “we miss you” messages use one cutoff for everyone, like 60 days. A three-week lash client has already missed two fills by then.

Every client has their own rhythm

ServiceUsually back everyWorth a check-in by
Acrylic fill2 weeksWeek 3
Gel manicure3 weeksWeek 5
Lash fill3 weeksWeek 5
Lash touch-up, monthly4 weeksWeek 6

Typical gaps, based on L’Oréal Paris (gel lasts 2 to 3 weeks, acrylic fills every 2 to 3 weeks), AARP (lash touch-ups every 2 to 3 weeks) and NovaLash’s founder (a touch-up about once a month). Keptix reads each client’s own history, so a three-week client is flagged at week 5.

What one regular is worth

Lash fill client

$1,470 a year

Every 3 weeks at $85

Acrylic fill client

$910 a year

Every 2 weeks at $35

Gel manicure client

$610 a year

Every 3 weeks at $35

Visits a year times the ticket. $85 is the middle of AARP’s $75 to $100 for a lash fill; $35 is the top of Zenoti’s ranges for a gel manicure and an acrylic fill. Lose 10 lash fill clients without noticing and that’s about $14,700 a year.

Why I built it

I ran a detailing business in the Florida panhandle with hundreds of regular clients. The ones I lost never complained. They just stopped booking, and I didn’t notice until months later. Nail and lash studios run on even more frequent regulars, so I built Keptix to catch them while there’s still time to bring them back.

Questions owners ask

How often should a client come in for a lash fill?

AARP says touch-ups are recommended every two to three weeks, since extensions shed with the natural lashes. NovaLash’s founder describes about half the extensions remaining after 30 days, with a touch-up about once a month.

How long does a gel manicure last?

L’Oréal Paris says a typical gel manicure lasts two to three weeks, and acrylics need a fill every two to three weeks. That’s why a three-week client at week 5 is worth a check-in.

What is a good rebooking rate for a nail salon?

In Zenoti’s 2024 data, nail salons rebooked 9% of clients within 24 hours of their visit on average, and the top earners 35%. Most clients leave unbooked, so following up at the right time matters.

Does Keptix work for solo techs and lash artists?

Yes. It works the same for a solo artist or a studio with a team, as long as each appointment has the client’s name on it.

Will Keptix message my clients without asking me?

No. You review every message before it goes out, and nothing is sent without your OK. Texting from your own local number is coming at launch, only to clients who said yes.

How much does Keptix cost?

The Leak Check is free. Plans start at $69 a month, and the first 25 founding businesses get 30% off for life.
